The State Rooms with their William<br />Kent decorations are simply staggering, specially the cupola room with its trompe<br />l'oeil reliefs done in bistre and gold leaf.<br /><br />Somewhere in my archives there's an image of the Snowdon's bathroom in colour-<br />deep apricot walls, gothick mouldings, the whole thing a synthesis of what Mrs Lancaster had at Haseley and what the Desmond Guinness's had at Leixlip.
