Crème de la Crème

'Bunny Williams Silver Wire Cachepot'
Bunny Williams, the reining queen of lady decorators, hardly needs an endorsement from The Devoted Classicist for her extensive range of retail home furnishings.  But her new moderately-priced table top collection for Ballard Designs is especially noteworthy.  One stand-out for me, as a (self-proclaimed) ice cream connoisseur, is the cachepot designed to hold a pint container of the frozen treat.  Brass with a pewter-color finish and a removable stainless steel liner, who doesn't need at least one?  In my ideal world, they would be considered individual containers, but I will leave the necessary quantity for a gracious table to be determined by the host/hostess.  And yes, they can be used, instead, to hold flowers or greenery at other times.

  2. It is so funny! Before your blog.........I saw that and said......."I need dozens!! What a brilliant multi-tasking chic container!" Oh well; great minds......and I love Bunny......(she said the funniest thing ever when she came to my house FULL of every light fixture and every finial and every thing from John Rosselli, and Treillage.....) I knew long ago we are from the same "tribe"!!!

Brilliant post! The whole collection is superb. I will buy it all before it is sold out! (If I can rob a bank or something)!

    1. It's great that so many objects are now available on-line. But nothing beats a visit to Treillage. Thanks, Penelope.

  3. Precious metals, or even base metals for that matter, result in the most beautiful of all the decorative arts. Your cachepot could be created in wood, glass, ceramics or plastic for that matter, and would do the job. But silver and brass look sharper and more elegant.
